Joining the Dots

May 26

Dear followers,

I apologize for slacking off.

I’ve been in Oregon in a tiny town with no internet or even cell phone reception.

I’m in the process of moving half way across the country by myself, and things are hectic as can be.

I just wanted to pop in and say hello to you all. Have a wonderful weekend.

I haven’t been writing about my trip day by day so I’ll catch up here:

Day 3:
Amelia and Doug were nice enough to drive down to Pismo Beach for me. I grew up playing on that beach, and it was exactly how I remembered it. We walked around there for a bit, and then went to Amelia’s mom’s beautiful house. She has to most perfect sky blue bathroom from the 60s. I loved it so I took a million pictures of it. We ate delicious food (cheese stuffed portobello mushrooms, salads and rice.) After dinner we decorated these fancy little gluten-free cupcakes. It was a good day just hanging out with everyone. Especially Amelia’s son Ryan. He’s two years old and is as smart as a five year old.

Day 4:
Amelia drove us down to Cayucos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo. Cayucos had a nice little beach and the water wasn’t bad at all. Morro Bay was amazing, and Amelia took me to the part where Alexa  Chung went! Also, Morro Bay had the most amazing burrito place that I’ve ever eaten at. So cheap too! San Luis Obispo was amazinggg. So many little and big shops. I wish we had more time to shop. It’s a nice little town that I would love to go back and visit one day.  After that I went back to Amelia’s and spent time with Ryan. Like I said, he is so smart and such an amazing little guy. We watched MGMT on Ya Gabba Gabba, which lead to us watching other MGMT videos that he ended up loving. (He called the creature in Congratulations a chicken. He kept saying, “Aww poor chicken. He is broken!”)

Day 5: Tulare bound! It made me so sad to say goodbye to Amelia and Ryan. I’m going to miss them so much.
I got to Tulare just in time to pick up my little brother from school. After that, we walked around the Visalia malls, ate at Red Robin, and then checked into our hotel and swam. It wasn’t very eventful but just seeing my little brother again is nice.

Day 6:
We woke up and decided to swim since it was already almost 90 degrees. Then, we decided to eat lunch at one of the best places in Tulare. It’s this little drive-in/diner called Sno White. It’s soooo good. I got a grilled cheese, and a whole lotta crinkle cut fries that are honestly my favorite fries ever. After that I drove past my old house where I grew up, and drove downtown where I used to bike with my grandma and little sister. Alot has changed, but I will always consider Tulare my hometown. After that we checked out the Tulare Outlets (where I found my velvet Vans!) and then went to one of my favorite pizza places called Me-n-Eds for dinner. After all of that, we came back and swam some more!

It probably doesn’t sound too exciting, but I’m having the time of my life.
Being out of Redding is so nice.
